This is not a Comcast ad. Look at him. A tiny and slow creature. The most important lesson that he needs to know is courage. If he does not have a perfect ingredient of courage, he could never reach any destination due to its limitation of acceleration. No matter how hard he tries to put on speed, he is going nowhere without courage.
His destination is like our ambition. And his limitation is like our effort into our ambition. His courage? Is our courage too.
I’d just fail an exam which I took two months ago. When I checked the result, I laughed out loud. Grade 4 out of 10? Damn, 175 bucks had just blown away. But why did I laugh? Because I did not pass it. What was I laughing at? At myself. I deserve that grade since that is the value of my effort.
When I look at this tiny creature, I know that effort does implies the final result. That 175 bucks? Never mind, it worth more than anything. I spent 175 bucks for this lesson, for this experience. We should not take chances that we have for granted. Otherwise, we won’t go anywhere.
See the eyes of the little creature up there? He’s telling us something. Be friend with Courage, and say hello to Never Give Up.
If you lose hope, somehow you lose the vitality that keeps life moving, you lose that courage to be, that quality that helps you go on in spite of it all. And so today I still have a dream
